Anthony Stovall Announces Candidacy for South Carolina House District 79

Columbia, SC – Anthony M. Stovall—a father of five, grandfather of nine, retired U.S. Air Force senior leader, educator, business owner, and dedicated community advocate—has officially announced his candidacy for South Carolina House District 79.

After nearly 40 years of distinguished service to his country, Stovall is once again answering the call to serve—this time at home in the community he cares deeply about.

Since retiring from the military, Stovall has remained actively engaged in civic and community leadership. He currently serves on the board of the Community Relations Council and is a member of the 100 Black Men of the Midlands (100BMSC), where he contributes on both the Membership and Education Committees. He is also actively involved in the NAACP, supporting its initiatives, including the Ministerial Movement Voting Initiative. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Young Contemporaries for Change Committee with the Columbia Relations Council and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he serves on the Project Alpha Committee and supports the Young Pharaohs special initiative.

As the founder and leader of Transformative Leadership Systems (TLS Global Management Services) and the Faith Hope Love (FHL) Leadership Nonprofit Group, Stovall has led impactful initiatives focused on leadership development, workforce readiness, and community empowerment.

“District 79 is at a crossroads,” Stovall said. “With surrounding areas experiencing new economic growth, emerging industries, and an influx of new residents, our district will be significantly impacted. This moment calls for proactive leadership to ensure we grow responsibly—positioning current residents to fully benefit from opportunities in jobs, infrastructure, and economic development—while also creating a welcoming environment for those new to our community.”

Stovall emphasized that his campaign is centered on ensuring that growth translates into real, measurable outcomes for families across the district.

Grounded in a lifetime of service and leadership, Stovall is running on a commitment to put people first and deliver results for the residents of District 79.
