Community leader, bestselling author, consultant and veteran Cynthia O. Ford has filed to run for the South Carolina House of Representatives District 57, officially entering the 2026 race.
Ford previously ran a competitive race for the seat in 2024 and said she is building on that effort with renewed momentum. District 57 includes parts of Marion, Williamsburg and Horry counties.
“She is picking up where she left off and is in it to win it,” Ford said of her campaign.
Her 2024 race also drew broader attention, sparking an investigation into voter irregularities in Marion County, as previously reported by The Post and Courier:

“I am proud to officially file and take this next step,” Ford said. “This campaign is about listening to residents, understanding the needs of our communities, and working together to deliver real solutions that create lasting impact.”
Ford has worked with businesses, nonprofits and community organizations across the region. She said her background in leadership and service, along with her military experience, has prepared her to represent the district and advocate for its residents.
Her campaign will focus on engaging voters, building relationships across the district and advancing solutions aimed at expanding opportunity and improving quality of life.
“I’m ready to continue the work, connect with our communities, and serve in a way that reflects the needs and voices of the people,” Ford said.
